Building a Future of Inclusive Education in Rwanda
Ubumwe Education Inclusion for Disabilities in Rwanda works toward a society where children and young people with disabilities can access education, participate fully, and reach their potential.
Who We Are
The Journey Behind UEIDR
My name is Ishimwe Fabrice, and my journey began with sound but changed forever when I became deaf at the age of seven. Before that, I was an ordinary, joyful child who loved learning, playing, and talking with friends. Then one day, after a severe illness that left me in a coma, I woke up in silence. The world I knew disappeared, and a new one began — a world without sound, without understanding, and without inclusion.

Together, We Can Build a Rwanda Where Every Child Belongs.
Today, I am no longer the child left behind. I am a Deaf founder, an advocate, and a voice for inclusion.
But this journey is not mine alone. Across Rwanda, children with disabilities still face barriers to education, opportunity, and belonging.
Through Ubumwe Education Inclusion for Disabilities in Rwanda (UEIDR), we invite you to stand with us. Together, we can break barriers, promote inclusive education, and create a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
